CCSR, alongside the Institute for Performing Arts Development (IPAD), Roehampton University, Kingston University, De Montfort University, University of Chichester and the Society for Dance Research present, PoP Moves, the annual popular dance studies symposium.
This year, PoP Moves is promising to be an exciting international event. The theme, “Amplifying movement: New directions in popular dance studies,” has drawn interest and submissions from the UK, Germany, France, USA, Canada and beyond.
Programme: The programme is available here: popmoves2011program. The day (29th October 2011) will begin with registration at 9am and end at 6pm (tbc).
VENUE CHANGE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, our venue for the event has been changed. We will now be meeting at the Docklands campus of the University of East London (University Way, E16 2RD). Registration: The cost for the symposium day is £15 per person (£12 for students, £13 for Society of Dance Research members) and this will include refreshments and a light lunch catered by Driftwood Cafe. This fee is for both delegates and anyone choosing to attend this event. PoP Moves is open to the public. If you are planning to attend the event, please send a confirmation e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. This is important so we have a proper estimate on numbers for catering.

Special Requests: If you wish to participate in practical workshops, bring comfortable clothes for dancing as well as clean indoor trainers (sneakers, running shoes, etc.) for urban dance workshops that are being planned (tbc).
