How do we explain it\u2019s long-lasting appeal, its unique aesthetic qualities, and the strange sense that these questions are somehow important?\u00a0This event will see a panel of expert commentators and practitioners discussing the issues in the ideal setting of Brilliant Corners, London\u2019s only audiophile venue, before then hosting a party to put theory into practice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Attendance is free and open to all &#8211; no need to register, just turn up.\u00a0<!--more--><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Venue:<a title=\"Brilliant Corners\" href=\"http:\/\/brilliantcornerslondon.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><a title=\"Brilliant Corners\" href=\"http:\/\/brilliantcornerslondon.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brilliant Corners<\/a>, 470 Kingsland Road, E8 4AE, London, UK<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Seminar 6pm:-8pm<\/span><\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Speakers:<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Dominik Bartmanski\" href=\"http:\/\/yale.academia.edu\/DominikBartmanski\" target=\"_blank\">Dominik Bartmanski<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong> of Masaryk University is co-author with Ian Woodward of the forthcoming book Vinyl: The Analogue Record in the Digital Age (Bloomsbury), and the author of several articles in international peer-reviewed journals.<\/p>\n<p><b>Colleen Murphy\u00a0<\/b>is an internationally-renowned DJ and producer, founder and host of <a title=\"Classic Album Sundays\" href=\"http:\/\/classicalbumsundays.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Classic Album Sundays<\/a> and founder member of <a title=\"Lucky Cloud\" href=\"http:\/\/www.loftparty.org\/about.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lucky Cloud Sound System<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b><a title=\"John Harris Guardian\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/profile\/johnharris\" target=\"_blank\">John Harris<\/a>\u00a0 <\/b>of the <i>Guardian <\/i>is a celebrated journalist and commentator on music, politics and culture.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Jeremy Gilbert\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uel.ac.uk\/research\/profiles\/adi\/jeremygilbert\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Jeremy Gilbert<\/b><\/a> of the University if East London is another founder member of Lucky Cloud Sound System, DJ at <i>Beauty and the Beat<\/i>, and the author of numerous works on music, politics, philosophy and culture.<\/p>\n<p>Chair:<a title=\"Tim Lawrence\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uel.ac.uk\/research\/profiles\/adi\/timlawrence\/\" target=\"_blank\"> <b>Tim Lawrence<\/b><\/a>, University of East London<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Party: 8pm-midnight<\/span><\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Dominik <\/b>and then record collectors from the<b> Lucky Cloud Sound System<\/b> will play music from 8pm until midnight.
