Andrew Blake<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Andrew Blake is currently Associate Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of East London, and a saxophonist and\u00a0composer. His books on music include The Land without Music: Music,Culture and Society in Twentieth Century Britain<\/em> (1997), the edited collection Living through Pop<\/em> (1999), and most recently Popular Music:the Age of Multimedia<\/em> (2007). He contributed to the Cambridge History of Twentieth Century Music<\/em> and the Cambridge Companion to Recorded Music<\/em>. He is also the author of books on sport, consumer culture, and fiction,including The Irresistible Rise of Harry Potter<\/em>, which has been translated into six languages.<\/p>\n
